What is changing now in healthcare buying?

Assort’s press index records a 17 September 2026 announcement concerning direct NextGen Enterprise EHR workflow automation and a 9 October 2026 announcement to codevelop an integrated offering with Nextech for ophthalmology practices. These are commercial and product-development signals; an announced partnership is not proof that every workflow is available in every customer environment. (assorthealth.com)

Desk interpretation: dental and outpatient buyers should evaluate exact system versions, supported actions and implementation responsibilities. A generic integration logo is insufficient evidence that an agent can correctly modify the buyer’s appointment records.

Is this becoming a software-only purchase?

The reviewed evidence does not support that conclusion. Assort’s Agent Support Engineer vacancy, observed 23 October 2026, assigns responsibility for post-implementation support, log-based investigation, escalations, response and resolution SLAs, and reopened tickets. This is qualitative evidence that operating support remains part of delivery—not a measure of market-wide hiring demand. (jobs.ashbyhq.com)

The ARC Electric podcast offers a complementary customer-side signal: workflow preparation and deliberately restricted booking permissions remained central to its deployment. (servicetitan.com)
